Eric was born in Guam just a few months before Typhoon Karen destroyed 90% of the island, sending the family packing for the less violent climes of Virginia. He grew up in Williamsburg, VA surrounded by American history and military installations. Eric entered the Cooperative Education Program immediately after graduating high school, and worked as an Engineering Student Trainee at NASA Langley Research Center while pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. After graduating in 1986 he went to work as a Civil Service engineer for the Naval Mine Warfare Engineering Activity in Yorktown, VA rising to the position of Division Chief before resigning in 1995 to start a business.

Eric joined Cruz Associates in 1996, and his participation increased to the point he applied full-time efforts to Cruz Associates in 2001. This decision would prove itself to be the right one as Eric was instrumental in orchestrating the growth from a half-dozen employees, most of whom were named “Cruz,” to the nearly 200 employees of the Cruz Associates we know today. Along the way, Eric had the opportunity to develop business in his Guamanian homeland and the resultant Cruz Associates Pacific, LLC has been successfully performing ordnance handling and inventory management services for the U.S. Navy since 2005.

Jim was born in Sumay, Guam in 1938. He graduated from George Washington High School in 1955 then left Guam to attend University of Kentucky at Lexington, Kentucky. After a couple years, he joined the U.S. Marines and was sent to Parris Island, South Carolina for basic training, then to Camp Geiger, North Carolina for Advance Infantry Training. Upon completing his training, he went to NATTC Jacksonville, Florida for Aviation Technical School. He attended “P” school for aviation at Millington, Tennessee. After Tennessee, he was sent to his first Duty Station in MCAS (Marine Corps Air Station) El Toro, California as an Aircraft Mechanic for Transports and Fighter Jets. Following an Honorable Discharge in 1960, he was hired by Cadillac Controls, Division of Excello Corporation at Costa Mesa, California as an Electro-Hydraulic Technician. In 1967, he was promoted as Supervisor in the Metrology Lab. In 1969, he was hired by Magic Mountain in Valencia, California as the Technical Superintendent of Construction and Maintenance. At the end of 1971, he was hired by Kings Island Amusement Park in Mason, Ohio as the Director of Construction and Maintenance.

Jim moved back to Guam in 1973 to help with family businesses. In 1985, he started the “Pesca Charters,” a sports fishing and dive charters business.  He joined Cruz Associates Inc. in 2004 as a consultant and, in 2011, was promoted to Vice President for Cruz Associates Pacific, his current post.
