Job Title: Warehouse Specialist

Scope: Performs ordnance handling evolutions at the multiple team level to include, but not limited to, receipt, segregate, store, renovate/repackage and issue conventional ammunition weapons, torpedoes, missiles and components to fully support the Naval Fleet units and on-island commands.
Responsibilities
- Loads and unloads cargoes in preparation for operations.
- Carries or moves and stacks cargo on pallets or cargo boards to prepare transfer to and from ship or other customers.
- Stacks cargo in magazines or in transit shed as directed by Leader.
- May act as a qualified safety observer for ordnance handling evolutions.
- Conducts ongoing inventories and spot inventories, as required.
- Verifies issue and receipt documentation.
- Reviews and validates documentation.
- As qualified/certified, performs ordnance handling duties assigned.
- Adheres to strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), DoD ordnance related publications and Safety directives.
- Ensures proper safety equipment is in place and adequate for all ordnance evolutions.
- Ensures personal protective equipment is properly used.
- Ensure required documentation is in compliance for applicable ordnance-transportation requirements.
- Licensed operator for material handling equipment (e.g. hoist, forklifts, etc.) used in transporting, loading or handling ammunition, explosive and other hazardous materials.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines and that safe practice are followed during all operations.
- Assist in all external safety inspections (e.g. ESI, DDESB, AMHAZ, etc.).
- Must successfully pass required course: (1) Basics of Naval Explosives Hazard Control, AMMO 18.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Kilo Wharf Operation’s Manager.
Education and Experience
- Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Requires basic knowledge of computer programs/software: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Must have tact and diplomacy to interact effectively with other personnel, customer contacts and government personnel.
- Required to lift up to seventy (70) pounds.
- Must successfully pass required course: (1) Basics of Naval Explosives Hazard Control, AMMO 18.
- Satisfactorily pass the Ordnance Handling Physical, able to perform the required tasks for this position without any limitations, successful background investigation, drug screening and reference check.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance (Secret Level).
